Officially, I have 5 web sites but I do manage other web sites for my clients. Generally, my web sites are running quite smooth and are generating an income. Today, I would like to share something with everyone.

Making money online with web sites not only depends of content but also the design or template of the web site. Running 5 web sites can sometimes be difficult because for each web site, I would have to pick a different design. When I created my first web site, I designed the whole site from scratch. The design was fairly simple but somehow I feel that it's not good enough. When I started to build my second site, I was getting tired of designing and decided to go with website templates that are readily available all over the world wide web.

Currently, all my five web sites use custom templates that are readily available for free from the world wide web. Most people would not use free templates because of the template copyright template and it would look unprofessional. But nowadays most people don't really care who designed a web sites template because the most important thing is content.

In my personal opinion, both content and web design are important. If your site has quality content but poor web design structure, people would not want to visit your site again. If your site has a high quality design or template but crappy content, people would just click the close tab button or the back button. So both web design and content must be of high quality if you really want to make money online. If you can match both web design and content, you can definitely increase your web sites traffic.

If you only have one web site and want to give web designing a try, go ahead but if you are not confident enough or you have more than 1 or 2 web site, you are better of getting readily available web site templates.
